7:57 pm - First flight !

[warning ! this is a postdated journal entry :-) ]
I had been to my native over the last weekend (18,19,20,21) mainly to meet my parents before I start to the US (if at all I get a visa).. also to attend 2 weddings of my (3, -got my point ?-) classmates.. Both these weddings were on Sunday 20th Aug, one in Thrissur and the other at EKM.(its a 80km journey btw these 2 cities). So, we decided to visit Amritha in Trissur on 19th eve and attend Sij & Divya's wedding on Sunday.(Photos here )
We left Thrissur at arnd 7 'o clock and reached the Hotel arranged by Sij at Ekm at arnd 10 'o clock. Due to some personal reasons, we 3(Eby, Abhilash & Me) of us had to vacate the Hotel at around 12.30 in the night !!! We roamed around in an Autorickshaw for another one for around 20mins... Luckily found one !! Later on Sunday morning, Eby was shivering with fever.. So we took him to the hospital nearby. Since he had to return to Chennai that evening, Doctor insisted on admitting him and put him on drips. So, we could not attend the wedding mass :-(.. We (only me & abhi) managed to get there after the mass.. By evening Eby was feeling much better and I dropped him at the Alwaye railway station.. Meanwhile, Ajesh had joined us who was struggling to find a ticket to Bangalore !! ( You know, these days, gettinga ticket to Bangalore frm anywhere in kerala, either by bus or by train, is impossible unless you plan it some 1 months before !! Still the railway authorities are keeping their Eyes shut-- may be they are paid for that :) ) At last he boarded in the General Compartment in the hope of getting it upgraded to some A/C ticket by TALKING [;)] to the TTR...
The next day I spend time visiting my grandmom and some relatives.. Tuesday, that was the day, when I was about to fly for the first time in my life !!! I was really excited about it !! you know !! Is there anyone who has never thought of flying like a bird ?? So, 7.00 clock was the scheduled dept. of my Air Deccan flight .. So I started from my home ( after a touching send off by my family :( ) at arnd 3' o clock and reached the airport around 5.. To be frank, I didn't know what to do there once you get into the airport with a vaild ticket.. Boarding pass, Check in all those terms were entirely new for me.. After collecting my Boarding pass , I eagerly started counting the minutes for the take off !! .. And then came the annonuncement !! The flight is getting delayed by 1hr.. I thought, ok, np !! After sometime I found a Sify Internet Cafe there.. .So I started killing my time by browsing (mainly Orkut ;) ).. At around 7.30 I came to know that the dept. time has been removed from the list for my flight.. Went back to the cafe.. I kept on checking the status every half an hour.. this lasted till 9o' clock.. The cafe was closing !!
There was nothing much I could do about.. Some people had already cancelled their ticket and selected the Kingfisher airlines !!.. That generated kind of a doubt whether the flight would get cancelled ?? By now all my excitement had turned into desperate tensed moments.. I had the visa interview on Thursday, for which I had my flight at 6'o clock early morning.. So, if this flight gets cancelled, theres no other way I can reach Bangalore on Wednesday unless I take some risks.
Along with an old couple, I was trying to get some information from the Airdeccan Counter.. But they were kind of trying to hide something.. that increased my blood pressure a bit.. And at last at around 10.30 they made a final announcement for the flight departure at 10.45.. I took a sigh of relief !! After the security check we landed in the aircraft which was a desperate disappointment for my expectations.. Both with the interiors and the host(ess ?? ;) ).. And we were just 13 passengers in that 50 (I think ) seater carrier. So could easily get a window seat comfortably.. Thus the much awaited journey started with much disappointment and a 5hr waiting time in the airport...
The take-off was interesting and the view through the window, tht too of the illuminated city in the night !! It was nice !! ... My friend picked me up from the airport back to our 163KHB !!

8:16 am - back again !!

uh ! I guess the best thing about my journal would be its name !! :) .. anyway, after 4 months, somebody just reminded me about updating the livejournal.. Weekdays are busy days in office ! and weekends start with cricket.. so, I didn't have time to think about this.. But today somehow we don't have enough members to play cricket.. being a longish weekend, most of my friends have gone to their native .. ok enough of background !!
Somany things just passed by.. 4 of my classmates got married in May.. I could attend only, the ones over the weekend.. Quite a few trips to my native ..
By the way, I had never read a novel in my complete life until I made use of the train trips to read a Malayalam novel by M T Vasudevan Nair ( shortly MT ) named "KAALAM", borrowed from my friend.. Somehow, I felt it very touchy. Central part of the story is a guy called Sethu, his teenage, youth and the way he finds a living ! One aspect I liked about it is the narration of the incidents in Sethu's life.. especially during his teenage days.. I thought, no I should say I felt, Sethu is somewhere inside me as well.
The craze of the first novel,made my buy another one "Oru Sankeerthanam Pole" a famous novel in Malayalam which bagged 7 awards ! The story is a dramatic picturization of the pain and love of the famous Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyodor_Dostoevsky ). It depicts his emotions, thoughts rather than describing a complex story. I felt more comfortable reading it, as if I am seeing it on a screen ! The novel narrates how our poor, 'GAMBLER', Fyodor fells in love with Anna Grigorevna, a twenty year old lady, who was a stenographer for one of his novels.
I am waiting for the next one, to read.. Probably an English novel. You could suggest me one, a simple but interesting novel ( taking into consideration that my english is not excellent )

I am back !! It has been a long time since I got a chance to update the log :)... A new year, chennai trip, and a trip to Wonderla .. It has been a very good year altogether.. so far so good.. We are having a new release, so busy with BUGS .. Had some good bugs and good fixes.. Weekends starts at 6.30 while the weekdays(office days ;) ) starts at 9.45 :D ... Cricket has been the major exercise during the weekends.. ;) ..
Btw, in the last two weekends I made two big mistakes :( ... TWO boring films.. "Kilukkam Kilu kilukkam" n "Chintamani Kola Case".. The former being a sequel to the superhit Mallu movie "Kilukkam" had only one good thing about it.. The name, which gave it the image of its predecessor !! A film, which not only has low class comedy. Total waste of time n money :((...
Last weekend, we were just recovering from the after effects of one stupid film, we planned to help out one of the superstar of malayalam (in the past) - suresh Gopi.. We decided to go for "Chinthamani Kola Case", a suspense thriller.. We knew that was mistake, within the very 5 minutes of the film :( ... But the story was some what OK.. the screen play being too bad .. :( and thought of filing a "KOLA" ( aka "VADHAM" ) case against the director :((

7:17 pm - Fusion Funda !!!

Though it Dates Dec'09, its about 26Nov 2005... :)... After a much long
time, I got time to update this.. Ok.. I had written about the Fusion
Funda.. Let me finish it off !!
Saturday... We are still nowhere with our Regional dance... not sure
abt the no. of people.. Not sure if the regional would get cancelled or
not ?? That had created some agony in Tamilchelvan,( an innocent guy,
whom I noticed from the first day of audition itself) as he was only in
the regional team.. But the dedication of the team had some result.. By
Saturday evening the sequences for the same was finalised.. We had to
get a Black Pant and Black Sports shoe for the dance.. Tamil and me
went to Indiranagar and did the shopping...
The next day I reached the Nimhan's Convention centre at around 10 o'
clock.. Did some practise sessions for Regional .. And at around 3'o
clock the "Fusion Funda" was kicked off.. After some fashion show
sequences, we had the Regional dance.. Which we enjoyed doing it.. it
started with "Gori naal Ishq mita.." , followed by "Manamda Raasa..
(tamil)", finishing off with "Chik puk raile.." ( you guessed it
wrong.. its a Kannada song) .. Again some more fashion show sequences
followed by a skit.. Then Bollywood, which had "Dus Bahaane (DUS)",
"Aashiq Banaya aapne..", "Nach baliye (Bunty aur Bubli)"..!! That too
went well... Some of my roommates as well as falso made it to Nimhan's
and could watch both the dances.. The final item of the "Fusion Funda"
was a music concert by KayKay (or KK ) and his band... By the time,
dinner buffet had started.. but I was enjoying the concert with dancing
in the crowd in the front row.. It was too much !!! Really enjoyed
those moments.. And for one song I even got into the stage while
dancing :) ... It was around 11'o clock when it actually finished, and
I started my dinner..
It was really a day filled with full of Entertainment.. Moreover I got
some good friends and had some good memories which I believe, would
always be with me..

Hi,
Now for me[ since deepak left bangalore-earlier us] in Bangalore, it is no more the garden city. Its like desert when the Infy flowers [ deepak-also was the joint editor for BE,ammu,varna,anu] has been shifted frm here. I miss u folks. With all ur memories and the good times we had here, let me start the Chapter 3 of the Bangalore Express.
Its all about DHOOM 2004 , the day out of my department and the AFTER EFFECTS.
** It was a sunny saturday morning. We had the Infy,Siemens buses eagerly waiting for getting some gr10 8-) guys on board(as IBM doesnt have buses, they hired in).@ 8. We had 1hr journey frm here to the so called Club Cabana. I thought it would be a boring day since I had no company out there other than 1 guy whom I used to see here & there in the office. But everything went the opposite. I met few guys who also joined with me, and started our fun.
After having breakfast we visited centres like Pakshi Shasthram(Kai nottam), Caricature( I humbly dont know the spellin), tatooing etc. Then we went to the sports center in the club. There we had bowling. ( i tried 5 times. first 2 times the ball went outside. then i realised one thing. I shud go 4 a lighter ball. so i tried with those balls and got better results :-) . ) Then we had a game of pool.(at least i learned how to hold that ,whts it called, ha, i dont know, the stick and to hit )
Then I had a much harder challenge. Play Volley Ball. with my weak hands. Any way I was surprised by my performance =:-O
I played so well, but wht to do, our team failed only in 8 of 9 games we played. Then we had a short time for tennis and table tennis. After all these we went into Water games, some artificial beach.( I think this spoiled the equilibrium of my health ). Meanwhile I got a momento for securing the Second place in 200M sprint conducted as a part of the sports day. 8-)
Then there was the most exciting item of the day. DJ Mix. and the dance party...
Belive me I have never danced like this before, ( I mean by time,nahin to mein hamesha acha dance kartha hum, aur tum log jaanthe bhi hon naa !!!) we had 2hrs of dancing . And u wont believe, the people became fan of my moonwalk.(enne kkondu thottu- failed of me ;p ). I met one Tamil guy who showed me a step and asked me to do that, i did it like flower(pushpam pole cheythuunny- ). and I asked him to do the moonwalk and he failed. >:o
And after the whole party, i was completely OFF. The sunday i managed to get to the church , but by evening I was enjoying all the pains of last days enjoyments. I got fever and whole body covered with roses of pain. The doctor gave 5 days medicine.
The next day(monday) I had to disappoint a handful of my fans who were eagerly waiting 4 me and the FWDS. But I was not able to even stand up straight. I took a leave and also thought to watch India winning. BUT THINGS WERE DIFFERENT WHEN I switched on TV. Match abandoned. :'( . Any way I slept till 1.30 pm and then again..... I slept.
The very next day, when I was able to at least sit in my bed, I thought again to disappoint( took leave)........and when i switched on the TV, it there was no Cable signal :-[ . How can I express those moments ? At last i cherished our Btech memories by going thru the autograph.
Thus a day of enjoyment,KHUSHI caused me 2 days of utter boring.

this is kind of a flash back.. Ctrl+C ed from one of my old mails.. its a bigger one.. though it talks abt one of the Crit-Sit we had to face.. which i wud like to remember throughout my life... enjoy .. here it starts.

We had no plan to write every silly things happened
here like others do.
But this is abt an incident which we cannot forget in
our life.
We had planned to change to a PG by last Monday. There
we expected to get a 4 sharing room for Praveen, Bejoy
( the IBM guy with whom we stayed initially) & us.
But when we reached there for giving the advance they
said they dont have vaccancy for 4 people till Sept 5.
So they asked us to shift to another PG till then.
A little about Bejoy's luggages. He had Two beds, 1
Tea-Poy,one TV stand,one Gas cylinder and abt 15
Books.( All like our Btech Text Books) + Dresses. He
had gone home for ONAM and returned only by
Wednesday.So he asked us to take his "BHANDAM"(in
Malayalam) with us while shifting.
We someway managed to get a rikshaw and moved to the
PG.When we reached there, it was abt 9.30 pm. He
lighted up the candle & showed us the way.( Hotel
California..., in Back ground ).We were shocked to see
the room.Even 2 people could not be in it
simultaneous. They asked us to pay 2500 each, then &
there. But we refused to stay there. This PG was a lot
more away from the Main road & more congusted. So
nobody was attracted by it. They wanted to get
ourselves stucked there.
So we took all our luggage to outside, to return to
the original house.But it was abt 10pm and far away
from the original house. One Malayalee stayin there
wanted to help us by keeping some of the luggages
there, so that we can return in an auto. But the owner
denied.
Time: 10pm, Place; somewhere in Bangalore. with all
our + Bejoys luggages.
( Aankhon me Sapne Liye, Ghar Se.. Shaan- in
background)
We, Praveen & us stood in the middle of the road . we
could not find any Riskhaw to move our things.
Then Suzuki went to call one of his friend's
brother-in-law who was abt 6kms away from where we
were.
At last we decided to move the luggages to His house &
take only our dresses back home.
But we had to find a rikhsaw. Two of us searched every
road, every shop, every person we met, but we could
not find one. At last, while returning we just asked a
man standing by the road. He gave us a mobile number
of a Rikshaw driver. We called him up and moved our
luggages to the house and we returned to our house in
an Auto.
Total Expenditure: Rs 550/-
For a moment we did not know wht to do. But at last we
got through it.
Flash Backs: Deepak was having a special training in
English.They ( the very few guys who have this
training)say that their group is supposed to be sent
to US.( Baar Baar Haan, Bholo Yaar han, -- Lagaan)
Flash Backs: Suzuki got 2 mails from amritha on 1st
Onam(Friday).
1) time: 12.01 pm: sub: hi, we are going home today.
happy onam.
2) time: 12.04 pm: Sub: hi, we cancelled our
tickets due to Assignments & Projects.
Hope you all get bored of these things. ( Bhool Jaa,

Any way we all are fine now. (Its the time to disco..

4:08 pm - The month that was November..

I am back again.. this time with some memories of the "Cultural activity Month" at IBM(to be more precise India Software Labs) ! oohh !! [ I don't know how effective I would be, in bringing down those moments into 8bit Characters ;) ].
Some flash back... [ remember those concentric circles moving inwards.. :p ] Last year, Nov. 2004... I got a 2nd place in 200M race on the Sportz day, which I deserved, after much contraversies.. and I was a part of the "Chillipilli Team" who won the first prize in the Skit Competition !! ( You won't believe I played "Shah Rukh Khan" !!!! packed with 3 dance sequences..)... and after all these a Day out in Club Cabana which ended with high energy DJ mix..
This time we have only sportz day n one "Fusion Fun-Da" special.. The Fusion Fun-da was supposed to feature a Fashion Show and Fusion-Dances, presented by the employees !! We started recieving the mails regarding auditions for all these events.. I didn't have anything to do with these items.. Fashion show ?? No way.. and Dance ?? I have danced only two times before on stage.. The first occassion being the "final-years day of our Engineering life" .. you can imagine how that would have been. :D..
My colleague, Chandru compelled me to attend the dance audition.. Thanks a lot Chandru, otherwise I would have spoiled a golden chance !!! So, I got selected for the "Regional n Bollywood" categories.. We were trained by two professional choreographers- Vasanth n Vijay -.. The first experience of its kind in my life..
Meanwhile the sportz day was celebrated during that weekend ( 19th Nov.).. This time also I got 2nd place in 200M race, and had some contraversies in the 100M race. Thats it for me.. coz, I had to rush to the dance practise :) .. We had only one more week for the Grand Finale..
Thats all for now.. I don't have good suspense in my journal, enough to keep you anxious as the usual Mallu Serials do it on Friday eve's.. Any way, I will be back with more about the Grand Finale.. The Fusion-FUNda ..

7:15 pm - After a long time..

Hmm.. It has been a long since I last updated my journal.. Well there were lots of break-points during this period of Execution ;) .. The major one being down w ith Chicken pox for almost 3 weeks..
I was returning after my cousin's marriage.. When I reached our flat, I could se e some PROTOTYPES of those chicken pox pimples on arms and on my body.. After co nfirming the infection at St: John's Medical College, I started my journey ( 5th journey in 2 weeks :( ) back home.. Thank God, I got a train ticket.Reached Alw aye at around 4.30 and took an auto-rikshaw to my native CITY(around 28 Kms)... And started what I will recall as one of the most unforgettable period in my lif e.. 13 days.. 9 movies... and lots of those boring serials... on fruits and only boiled vegetables for rice... with no free air.. limited no. of faces(that I c ould see these days) ...
The first two days were too boring that I had no other choice but to sleep.. tha t too in a particular angle so that I don't feel the pain.. But later on I tried to break a TOP SCORE.. Nothing but the TopSocre of Snake on my mobile.. :) ... I missed the feast at our Chapel too.. I was undergoing Homeopathy treatment.. T hank god !! at least I didn't feel bored of taking those sweet tablets ;) every 2 hrs...
At last the day has reached when I was going to take bath after 15 days.. the da y I would be "#define"d as free of chicken pox.. Again I was lucky that there we re hardly any marks on my face.. :) .. Back to Bangalore life...
So I am back to the `boring` routine- wait for a friday evening which starts on every monday- .....

2:19 pm - Weekend !!

Aaah !! Again my laziness showed up.. I was supposed to write something about the weekend.. :( .. I am in the mid of next week..
Anyway, better late than never !
I was carrying my colleague's bike which I was supposed to test drive over the weekend. A 98 model, Black Hero Honda Splendor. I was given the relevant docs which you are supposed to carry while riding a bike. So Friday eve I left office on the bike..
Riding a bike alone, that too in a big city n without a Driving License !
I was too tensed to drive it through the busiest ( aka too nasty traffic ) road in t Bangalore - AirPort Road -. I expected something to happen, and it did ! Thank God ! he gave the copy of RC n Insurance book.. I lost it.. It was too late when I checked for the papers in my pocket. So I continued my journey back home..
Thank God Once again !! No.. no mistakes this time.. I reached home safely ! :)
As per the HR policies of 163 KHB, [ aka our house ;) ], every new entrants should give an "entry level" treat program (ELTP ). It was Prabhuth's turn [ aka Vallyettan @ Infy ].. So went to some restaurant called "The Village" at IndiraNagar.. Though the name as well as the interior decorations of the restaurant brought some nostalgic feelings in every one, the final bill spoiled it up ;) ...
Saturday ! Its the time for cricket ! As usual we play cricket on every saturday morning. The only day in a week where all of us gets a chance to see the Sun @ 7 am. But this time it was a bit late, and we wound up after one game, which our team one.. Again Saturdays => No break fast ! Only Br-Unch ! This time it was Ashiq (@accenture) who popped up with a proposal for his ELTP.
We wanted try something different, something New ! We went to Sue's Food Palace at IndiranNagar- A pure Carribean Restaurant. They run buffe for Lunch n Dinner. We had a good time enjoying the West-Indian food ! Every one was fully loaded ! ;)
Watched a Mallu Movie, "Nerariyan C.B.I" ( means C.B.I, to know the truth) at SivajiNagar [ which we preferred to call, "Kaashu kalayan C.B.I ", meaning "CBI to waste money "]. Anyway,after a long time, we could enjoy the Comments, Whisles and the Claps which you can enjoy only in a Mallu Theatre !!
Its too much for a weeknd description.. Ok. I will summarise Sunday.. Got up at 8.30 ..Church at 9.30...Took rest.. End of Day.. End of another Good Weekend.. BTW, it was the last weekend in the house where we stay now.. We are shifting to a new flat next week.. our 163KHB is growing.. In a hurry to arrange the advance amount..[ Two things I hate about bangalore- Traffic, Rent n Security Deposit for houses ]
Thats all for now.. Wait for more...
